Perseverance Article I

For as long as I can remember, I have held onto three words, my favorite words, words that in High School (most pivotal years)  I remember playing over and over in my head, to this day im honestly not sure why, but they are here, just floating around me twenty-four-seven; Perseverance, Confidence and Success. A part of me really wanted to dig deep into these words, their meanings and my own personal meanings for them, I figured it would be really cool for me to share with you my results but lets do this one at a time, i'm learning a lot more about myself through this process.

Perseverance
Definition steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.

Obstacles, difficulties and discouragement, these three things are extremely familiar in my day-to-day life, and in all reality in most all human beings lives. This may sound extremely weird but, I love the thought of obstacles, difficulties and discouragement. These life happenings are challenges and challenges are what drives me, I love challenges. Thinking about it.. I really am ecstatic by these three words and when it all comes down to it Perseverance is a natural state of mind, there is no stopping, no giving up, only growing and learning. Many people ask me how im so determined and I honestly really never had an answer, up until recently when I had an epiphany. It was one of those moments when you realize "Oh, my parents really are smart and wise, am I actually admitting I might owe them something for molding me to the person I am today?!" yes, one of those. My mother raised me on this: she leaned on teaching me to keep an open heart while living in such a fearful world. My mind knows the ugly in this world, it knows the horrible things and the ruthless people but it choses to turn a blind eye to all of that. Growing up I got walked all over many times, I was turned down from many things I auditioned for and I had many struggles but I was smart enough to just shrug my shoulders, walk away and keep moving forward, it wasn't that big of a deal. Looking back I also made a lot of great friends, I scored many auditions and I had great successes, life is always win or loose. I strut through life honestly believing in everything beautiful, good and amazing so when it's time to persevere through the difficulties i'm dealing with a piece of cake. Do whatever you need to by making the best out of any situation, thats a first step to keep moving forward.

My best advice to you is when someone or something in life is discouraging you from what you love, what makes you happy or even your biggest dreams...chew it up and spit it out. Make yourself believe that you want that, you want people or things to put you down just so you can rip that discouragement to shreds. Obstacles, difficulties and discouragement are meant to happen, the meaning behind them is to make you bigger, better and stronger, so persevere babe!

Happy Wednesday everyone! Im really just finally catching back up with my life after a work trip to New York, I can't wait to share some photos with you (that are still sitting in my camera) and share some fun details. Anyway, one of my favorite statement pieces to wear is leopard although I usually only pair it up with black...so I decided to get a little brave and try this cream yellow vintage blazer with my leopard maxi dress! I really loved the result, white will be my next pair up for leopard. What do you think? Do you mix any color with leopard print items? Hope everyone's week is going fantastic!

I am excited to share with you my portrait taken for WORLD CLASS YOUTH, our partners BLKGLD gave us girls the opportunity to be behind the camera instead of in front of it running the show and boy was it a blast! The funny thing about this photo is I think I am wearing exactly what I showed up to the photoshoot in, my favorite pair of jeans and knit sweater, nothing beats comfort! I have been directing this company for a few good years now and we have really had some amazing opportunities, fashion shows, photoshoots, pop-up shops and our latest venture, a small shindig with Forever 21.

I work with such an amazing team of beautiful young and smart women, all while I have a million things on my plate this team keeps it all together for me, holding meetings, scheduling conferences, pulling together new event ideas and sticking close to our contacts, I really don't know what I would do without them. Well, if you want to see what we look like, you can just watch the video below, let us know what you guys think by commenting on the video or even just leaving something below xx

A Real Blog Post

Well, here I am, doing something I have not done in an extremely long time...sitting down and actually "writing" a blog post. I mean lets be honest, in the clouds of the Blogosphere and the huge success of so many Fashion and Beauty Bloggers, it seems like I completely forgot what 'blogging' was actually about...writing.

Don't get me wrong, photography is amazing, documenting life through photos is incredible and so easily feasible but I have been taking the time recently to actually sit and meditate on my thoughts and on my heart (as i'm sitting with The Devil Wears Prada gracing my TV in the background). There is nothing more that I want in life than to be a good leader, a helping hand to many and someone who sets themselves apart from others, needing to take advantage of my resources is officially becoming priority on the list. I am in love with the concept of Blogging, I completely and fully support the Blogging Community and I honestly have so much to learn and grow in so many ways. Time to be an open book! Speaking of, I have recently been reading a book called "A Return to Love" by Marianne Williamson, only being half way through I must say it is by far the most genius book i've ever read. This woman's insights picks the deepest parts of my brain, mostly focusing on the topic of Love and our human instincts for the search of inner peace. Juggling between relationships, career or our health, Williamson teaches how accepting God and expression of Love is really the perfect answer. I highly recommend this Bestseller, I mean you can snag it on Amazon for 60¢!

It would be awesome (if we know each other or not) if you would send me your ideas on future Blog Posts I can write for you, advice, tips, how-to's etc. I will be refereeing to them as Articles going forward, exciting! You can easily comment below of visit one of the links on the side of this page. Looking forward to growing with you through blogging, but seeing that I might only have five hours of sleep tonight this will have to do, it's currently raining and im looking forward to falling asleep to the sound of it,  au revoir!
